Glass Beads are Used on Road for Traffic Markings

Road traffic markings are mainly set on the road surface. Subject to sun, rain, wind, snow and freezing, and impact and abrasion from vehicles, so there are strict requirements on the markings performance. 

Firstly, it requires a short drying time and simple operation to reduce traffic interference.

Secondly, it requires strong reflection, bright colors, and strong reflectivity, so that it has good visibility during the day and night.

Thirdly, it should have skid resistance and abrasion resistance, so that it can ensure driving safety and long time service.

In order to improve the recognition of night markings and increase the brightness and durability of markings, reflective glass beads are added into the road markings. 

Glass beads are colorless and transparent small balls that have the functions of refracting, focusing and directional reflection on light. Mixing glass beads into the paint or spreading on the surface of the coating film can reflect the car lights back to the driver's eyes, thereby greatly improving the visibility of the marking.
